What is TechCred?
TechCred is a workforce development program from the State of Ohio that helps businesses upskill current and future employees by reimbursing employers up to $2,000 per employee for earning technology-focused, industry-recognized credentials. It's designed to ensure that Ohio companies have the skilled talent needed to compete in today’s fast-changing economy.
How TechCred Works

Choose a Credential
Select from a list of over 2,000 eligible short-term credentials, many of which can be delivered through Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center or created as part of a custom training solution. -
Apply for Funding
Submit a TechCred application during an open funding round. Applications are accepted multiple times per year, and Lorain County JVS can assist you with this process. -
Train Your Employees
Once approved, enroll your employees in the selected training. Training can be delivered on-site, online, or at our campus—whatever works best for your business. -
Earn the Credential & Get Reimbursed
Upon successful credential completion, you submit proof of completion and request reimbursement. Businesses can receive up to $30,000 per funding round.
